After gaining Audit and Taxation experience in Wellington, Bryce returned to Wanganui to join his father, Kenneth, as a director of Carey Smith & Co in 1989. He has developed good relationships with a wide range of private and corporate clients in Whanganui over the years, enabling him to not only provide quality advice, but also to act as a sounding board to help develop new ideas with clients and other professionals.
His extensive experience and knowledge of business, trusts and estates, along with his contacts, gives him the edge when supporting clients in ways not usually associated with the work of a Chartered Accountant.
Rawlinson & Hunter is an international grouping of taxation and finance specialists and Bryce has been its director of the New Zealand office since 2003. This has given him significance experience in overseas based trusts and other structures.
Bryce is a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA), a Fellow of the CPA (Australia), and has service on various committees at a regional and national level. He is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Bryce has attended Executive Education courses at the Harvard Business School and as Oxford University.
He is able to offer his experience and expertise to advise on business, taxation, trusts, decision making, while able to focus on both the bottom line and the messages within the numbers.
Bryce enjoys having a life outside of the office and is actively involved in the arts, travelling, tramping and spending time with his family. He has sponsored the Whanganui Arts Review for a number of years.
